While driving in downpour, my windshield wipers stopped working. Driving 65 on the highway in a downpour with no wipers is dangerous and i almost crashed a few times. The motor was fine. It was the assembly transmission that kept popping off the motor that was the problem. When i had it replaced, the mechanic showed me, it slipped off so easily, it's nuts that it lasted the 2 years i've had the car. There is a…

I was travelling on the highway at 60 mph in heavy rain when my windshield wipers suddenly shut down and would no longer work. I was able to safely slow down and stop, but this could have ended much differently as i was unable to see anything! This appears to be the same problem as many have reported with the bearings on the wiper transmission corroding and coming apart.

I was traveling on a highway in heavy rain when suddenly the passenger-side wiper started moving in the opposite direction as the driver-side wiper. It finally stopped dead and i only had the driver side wiper but the blade was badly damaged when they were hitting one another so i had very limited vision. I consider this to be an extremely hazardous situation.
